Debbie Wong was born in Hong Kong but keeps busy with work in Canada, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan and Singapore. This is one versatile lady who moves from dramas to sitcoms to hosting and modeling.

Like many others in the entertainment business, Debbie started out as a beauty queen when she became the first runner up of Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant in 1996. But it was more than just her look that caught the judges’ eyes. Debbie has a kind of attraction that endeared her to the cameras and those around her as she also took home the titles ‘Miss Photogenic’ and ‘Miss Popularity’.

Her next beauty queen stint was her participation in Miss Hong Kong 2008 pageant where she won ‘Best Hair Award’(although it’s not really her hair that would turn a guy’s head). It was this pageant that led to her becoming a celebrity and open doors to her for she then received invitations and offers to appear in TV commercials.

As her popularity grew, she was asked to endorse products and if you are a fan of Aaron Kwok or Andy Lau, you’d probably have seen her – she appeared on both their music videos! This serves to whet her appetite for the camera as she joined the cast of KL TV drama ‘Homecoming 2’ and ‘Show me the Money’. Yup, she was in our local drama. Wonder if it’ll be easy to get hold of those?

But if not, guess we can try asking our neighbours – the Singaporeans. Across the causeway, Debbie appeared as cover girl in Singapore Maxim and New Man magazine. She was also in AXN’s ‘E-Buzz’, the ever-popular sitcom ‘Phua Chu Kang’, ‘After Hours’ and ‘Shooting Stars’.

Even as she dabbled in acting, Debbie also took on hosting duties. She was the host for an art program called ‘Front’ and SuperSports football reality show ‘Carlsberg Man of the Match Challenge’ for Euro 2008 championships.

Currently, it’s been a bit quiet though and I do wonder what she’s up to…
