The Sexiest Girl in Malaysia, Hannah Tan

I think sometimes that Hannah Tan is playing hide-and-seek with the guys. There are times when you see her everywhere – TV, magazines – and other times, when you can only get news on her through the Internet. She keeps you guessing constantly about her next project and then boom! There she is, coyly smiling at you.

This lass is proof that there are beautiful, sexy girls in Malaysia so local guys need not despair. There is still chance for you to catch glimpses of gorgeous girls at the mamak store around the corner (but you may need to work on catching their eye!).

Hailing from Penang, Hannah Tan is of Chinese and Kelabit parentage, resulting in the kind of look that makes you wonder is she Chinese, is she not? But it is this look that draws you in. And although the pose may be sexy in nature (just look at the pictures), she always has a little smile in her eyes that conveys a sense of friendliness.

I believe this is what sets her apart from others as she does not ‘scare’ the audience. Instead, they are made to feel like they know her (bet you wish you do know her for real!). And being from the same college as her (are you envious?), I can tell you that her friendliness is real. There was never a snooty air about her and she got on well with both students and lecturers alike.

Hannah’s beauty may have opened the door for her but it is her talent and passion that ensures her career flourishes. From starring in TV commercials with Karen Mok to hosting duties for a myriad of TV shows, Hannah shows that she is capable of wearing different hats.

Her debut CD in 2007 lets us know that this girl can sing too and soon after, we found out that she can act as well. Appearing in the movie Bezanya Cinta, Hannah impressed multiple-award winning director, Afdlin Shauki so much that she was invited to play the lead in My Spy.

However, what I find admirable about her is not that she is beautiful or has talents in spades. It’s her commitment to helping others.

She believes in leading by example and funded a community service initiative called ‘H’ Factor Nationwide Youth Workshop. Her charity concert ‘I’ll be Home for Christmas’ in 2009 also shows that she holds the underprivileged close to her heart with more than 650 gifts given out.
