Sleep Box in Dubai – Move aside Tune Hotels
Aug 10th, 2010 by Neo
Ever wonder about how small those rooms are at Tune Hotels? Here’s another innovation which could change the face of budget hotel accommodation as we know it. Introducing the Dubai Sleep Box:
Sleep Boxes are basically cubicles which are placed in airports, train station and the likes for people to rest (and maybe sleep) while you wait for your next connecting flight/train.
There are different types of sleepbox designs as well. This one looks like a pine timber finish with warm white lighting.
It measures approximately 2 m x 1.4m x 2.3m. Surprisingly it is designed by Russians. Aren’t there lots of Russians who are more than 2m tall?
Nonetheless it looks comfy and sure beats sleeping on airport benches. No TV, No mini-bar and no wardrobe.
No toilet or washroom either. For that, you still have to use the public conveniences. But it does include bed linen, LCD TV, WiFi, air ventilation and space for your laptop. Luggage space is under your bed.
Apparently the Russians are not the first with this concept. The credit goes to the Japanese when they introduced Sleep Capsules some time back.
