Vibe Carlton Melbourne

Melbourne is one of the more happening cities in Australia and it’s been years since I was last there. Unknowingly I booked to arrive during AFL (Aussie Rules) semi-final weekend… that explains why hotels were so fully booked! Anyway I stumbled across the Vibe Carlton Hotel online. It is located in Melbourne’s city fringe in the suburb of Carlton. What attracted me was the trendy look & feel and the price of A$125 per night when most other hotels were going for A$150 or more that weekend. Here’s a shot of the colorful lobby.
The room was just as trendy, comes with a Queen size bed plus Single bed. I had asked for a room facing the pool as I read in the reviews that the main road can be a little noisy. The hotel staff were kind enough to grant our request.
The bathroom was small but adequate. There is a good size bench top for those who have lots of toilet accessories.
This is the beautiful full length mirror wardrobe and mini bar area.
A shot of the hotel from outside, I just love the trendy colors. Notice the little shed at the far end? That’s the hotel gym. I didn’t get to try it, but it is quite decently equipped and enjoys a pleasant outlook to the pool.
Being Melbourne, the swimming pool is understandably underutilized. This is September Spring and it was a chilly 12-15 degrees during the day.
Vibe Carlton is a 5-10 minute tram ride into Melbourne CBD, it is within walking distance to Melbourne University and Melbourne Zoo. It is also near Lygon Street for those who love Italian food. Overall it was a pleasant stay at the Vibe. Interestingly this hotel is also part of Toga Hospitality Group which operates the Travelodge, Medina and Adina hotels throughout Australia.
