A day out in Genting Highlands, courtesy of Resorts World Genting
Feb 28th, 2011 by ll
After receiving an invite from Resorts World Genting to enjoy a Bloggers Day Out, we were excited to see the latest and greatest in the City of Entertainment, Genting Highlands. We arrived late at Maxim Genting and rushed into the Visitors’ Galleria, just in time for the tail end of the Blogger Briefing and to meet Dato Anthony Yeo, Senior Vice President of Public Relations and Communications of Genting Berhad. That’s Dato Anthony having a friendly chat with us.
Our first stop was the Pedas Springs Spa. It’s located in First World’s Indoor Theme Park and provides a wide range of spa treatments. We had foot steam massage and found it rejuvenating.
An interesting feature in Pedas Springs Spa is the Floating Villa, a room which extends out into the paddle-boat lake. This is Pedas Springs treat for the romantic or honeymoon couple to indulge in the best body massage and scrubbing that Genting has to offer. We were told that packages start at RM688.
Our fellow Bloggers snapping away enthusiastically, while Nita from Pedas Springs (the lady in the center wearing a suit) explaining the packages offered at the Floating Villa.
After this, we had a quick buffet lunch in the First World Cafe followed by a trip to the Haunted House.
Warning: If you have a weak heart, then don’t try this one. Even though the ghosts and demons are fake, they scream and leap out in the dark suddenly out of nowhere to scare the pants off you! We had to leave our bags, wallets and mobile phones outside because the management is afraid we might drop them in the dark. Or maybe the ghosts will rob us!!!??
Our next destination is ‘Ripley’s Believe It or Not’. A place where one can see all kinds of odd, incredible and uncanny things from all over the world.
The picture above is the fertility idols. If you touch them, you will bear children even where you have failed in the past! … so it is believed
This was one of the main challenge in Ripley’s. If you have the chance to go there, try opening this gate. If you can do it (without help), you’re smarter than most of us
The one on the right is Ash, the Manager at Ripley’s… I must say she has a great passion for her job… it seems she had so much fun showing us around and so fired up about all the items on display, even though she must have done this hundreds of times! And that’s Allison in the centre, the haunted house spooked her a bit but there she is back in action.
See, that’s Orange Banana saving the books from falling. Well done Dylan!
Next, is free and easy time. The Resorts World team gave us this Holiday Card worth RM100 and we used it for the 4D Cinema featuring ‘Pirate Story’. Call me old fashion but I’m not a fan of 3D movies or Imax, the same goes with 4D I guess. At least this was a freebie, so the twirling headache that ensued was not so bad haha!
As we are about to obtain tickets to go in the ‘Snow World’ but the ticket attendants said that it is full and the next intake is at 6:30pm.
We really wanted to go on the ‘Sky Venture’ but alas, it was full as well. Anyway that’s how it looks like… the skydiving happens inside the Petronas Twin Towers clone.
Our finale is the Singles-to-Mingle event which was held at The Patio. Stay tuned for the next article, as Genting Highlands plays cupid to a couple of eligible singles
