OK here’s a bit of nostalgia this week. Andrew Roy Gibb was born in Manchester, England, on 5th March 1958 and was the youngest in the family. His bothers Barry, Maurice and Robin were the renown group called Bee Gees started in the late 50s.
Later they shifted to Island of Ibiza, Spain where Andy, a teenager played music at tourists clubs and later in Isle of Man, located in the Irish Sea, between Great Britain and Ireland. In 1975, Andy Gibb became serious in becoming a singer and went back to Australia in 1975 to spend time perfecting his music and performance. Within a year he was in great demand as he performs in small concerts and in large halls. Andy’s first single ‘Words and Music’/’ Westfield Mansions’ produced by Col Joye landed in the top 5 of the nations’ capital city.

“Flowing Rivers” was Andy’s first album recorded in Miami for RSO Records. He married Kim in July 1976. “I Just Want To Be Your Everything” sung by him was one of the most selling records of 1977 and he won in the category of the Best New Artist Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Performance in the same year. His second album “Shadow Dancing” and after and extensive concert tour he was one of America’s top entertainers.
Early 1988 he was attempting to write his own songs at Robin’s house. However, he died in John Radcliff hospital, Oxford, England from Myocarditis (heart muscle inflammation caused by viral infection) on 10th of March 1988.
Below are some of his popular titles. Click on the link below the graphic to hear the song… enjoy
