About Hot-Screensaver

Lifestyle, Travel, Hotels, Property, Interesting People and Places
Hot-screensaver has evolved into a blog about all these things. But why the strange name?
The previous owner named this blog after his favorite show Thescreensavers which I understand is some sort of talk show about the latest technologies, gadgets, tweaks and hacks. It was owned by TechTV. However, someone by the name of G4 bought TechTV in middle 2004 and turned TechTV into G4TechTV. Now, Thescreensavers is no more.
But this blog is still around because we want to build it into something good… something informative and useful for you, our readers. Stay tuned while we make it one of the best blogs in Malaysia!

[...] Don’t you like the name Hot Screensaver? Anyway, when I started blogging a couple of readers asked me the exact same question, so I have written it all down in the About page. [...]

Nice to meet you lo.
I love your firefox theme. I guess I need to learn this stuff so I can update it.
You’re not too old for blogging. That’s a myth spread by clueless kids who think they invented the Internet, and own the web.
I was born in the 50s. I’ve been in IT since 1975. My generation made the Internet what it is today. Today’s kids are pretty much users and little else.

hey..i like the screensaver show too.. i missed it dearly..!! i like tech stuff..
cool!
It’s great that I found a website for my next presentation. Your blog really makes me terrific homesick. Especially those foods… I have a question, just curiousity, which country you’re original from since you said you were migrated to Malaysia?
I like to use the “screensaver” term when i am about to doze off while having a meeting or lesson. ;p
So if i say “I’m in screensaver mode” means I’m half awake or already going to snore. Ha ha ha.
Hey – Just stumbled across your site. I imagine you know that Leo Laporte, formerly of “The Screensavers”, does a whole bunch of podcasts. He calls his group TWIT, it started out with “This Week in Tech”, which had a lot of the old Screensavers cast on it. It evolves over time, but is great. Check it out on twit.tv, or i-tunes.

Hi,
What camera are you using for the photo? They’re brilliant.

no one bothers about ur age bro for this informative blog. keep on writing!
Do you have any plans to make the firefox theme widget ready. I am trying to add some sidebars to it and cant’ get the php syntax right. Any advice would be appreciated in how to edit the sidebar.php file. Thnx.
Love the MegaStructures show too – what great unlimited imagination some humans have! Let us always praise them and remember them for ever! (Actually I enjoy all engineering and science shows.)
Actually I am 20 years your senior and a retired software engineer. (Old enough to have used the Internet before WWW was invented! Vivat Sir Tim Berners-Lee and CERN for giving it to the rest of the world free!)
Came here accidentally looking for info on Chinese food – LOL!
Thank you for keeping a blog! (Better than reading these modern literary writers!)
when i first saw the domain.. i thought it’s a site to get hot screensavers for my computer.. =P

Right on, Susie! I’ve been in IT since 1982 when I serviced and maintained computers and was one of the early ones in Malaysia to use PCs, do word processing and configure modems, etc and all this marketing hype & hullabaloo about “GenY”, “digital immigrants,” “digital natives,” etc disgusts me.
I guess, according to these marketers, Dr. Vinton Cerf who is regarded as the Father of the Internet, Sir Tim Lee-Berners who created the World Wide Web, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Steve Balmer and a whole host of others who helped create the IT revolution are all “old fogies,” “dinosaurs” and “digital immigrants.”
